children’s books, Clare Ham Grosgebauer is a Principia
alum (C’68) with a background in early childhood
education. “Snickerdoodle stories are a legacy
of love from my storytelling grandfather,”
Clare says. “Granddaddy had a great sense
of humor. He taught me to look for everyday ‘small
wonders.’ And I treasure the lessons Snickerdoodle
teaches about courage and confidence in the All-Power
of Love, right in the face of bullies and ‘tough
stuff.’ Granddaddy hoped Snickerdoodle would become
